Fabrication & Manufacturing Technician
Omnia CS Limited is expanding the markets and the products we supply. From being a distributor of lightweight composite materials, we are now offering the manufacture of specialist items.
As a result, we are recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing & Fabrication Technician.
The ideal candidate will have experience in either: Coach Building / Carpentry / Joinery / CNC Machinery
Although full training will be given, experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
> Ability to interpret engineering drawings
> Body/Coach Building
> Competence with hand tools
> Welding (both steel and aluminium would be desirable)
> Thermo-plastic welding
> Create CAD design suitable for production
> CNC machine programming; choosing the right tools, setting cutting speeds & machining of parts
> Accomplishing production line tasks by using a variety of machinery
> Operate cutting/routing/drilling and other power tools
> Fabrication of production jigs
> Operation of panel press
> Fabrication of ‘Prototype’ Vehicle Body Building and Manufacturing
> Fabrication of various customer parts; both commercial & non-commercial vehicle related.
> Composite Panel Manufacture
> Maintaining equipment and good health & safety practices around the workshop
The successful candidate’s duties will also include:
> Checking work meets quality and technical standards
> Keeping the workshop and premises tidy
> Maintaining stock and appropriate stock levels
> Receive and organise incoming deliveries
> Excellent practical skills, maths and IT skills are also desireable.
We offer a competitive salary dependent upon experience ranging from £19,000-24,000 and includes participation in the company pension scheme and 28 days holiday per annum including bank holidays
Full, on-the-job training will be given to ensure you are successful in the role.
Up to 2 apprentices would also be considered for this role
